No.100 was a 2-8-0 locomotive that was built by Hinkley in August, 1881 for the NY&NE RR. This freight train was photographed c.1890 leaving Waterbury, Connecticut, westbound towards Danbury, Connecticut. #100 would become New England Railroad #100 in 1895 and #1000 of the New York, New Haven & Hartford RR in 1898 (assigned Class P-5 in 1899). The locomotive was renumbered to #264 in 1904 and renumbered again in 1907 to #248, then retired and broken up for scrap in 1908. - Historical Information courtesy of the New Haven Railroad Historical & Technical Association, Inc.
