This 2-6-0 steam locomotive as an example of the most powerful locomotive designs of the mid 19th century. The Central Railroad of New Jersey, which began operations in 1839, was a regional railroad that lasted until 1976 when it was absorbed into Conrail. Exact locality and photographer for this photo have not been identified.
