A savage battle is underway, perhaps the tents below are for royalty. The large 'horns' below might be army trumpets, the figure in the cart proceeding to the right is as yet unidentified. Stylistic elements suggest both Anglo Saxon (battle) and Carolingian art (tents). The illustrators who composed this print drew upon disparate manuscripts.
