Image Archive 19th CENTURY SEAPORTS 7.06 ? NEW ENGLAND SEAPORT < PLYMOUTH HARBOR 2. . . . . . . . >QUEBEC CITY HARBOR |
|
| Although
unidentified, this scene is reminiscent of a New England whaling port,
an impression reinforced by the dozens of wooden barrels on the dock. The full rigged ships could be whalers or the trading vessels. Many substances from flour to whale oil were shipped in barrels. The sign on the dock left of center reads "Nelson's Boat Bazaar". |
