Friendship Sloop

The Friendship Sloop is a distinctive design developed in response to the needs of fishermen and lobstermen in Muscongus Bay, mid-coast Maine in the 1880s. 'Friendship' is the name of one important lobster fishing port on the bay. Many Friendship Sloops survive today, and are sailed for pleasure and historical experience. Locality and photographer are unknown for this photograph taken c. 1935.
